Kim Porter funeral: Diddy shares heartfelt message for ex-girlfriend, Beyonce posts tribute
On the day of her funeral, Kim Porter was remembered by Beyonce and former boyfriend Diddy on social media.
The
rapper, whose real name is Sean John Combs, tweeted a heartfelt message
about the late model, actress and mother of three of his children on
Saturday.
"Today we lay to rest our ANGEL. Her
spirit lives on with us FOREVER!!! We thank you all for your prayers and
support," he tweeted, along with a photo of Porter. "You have no idea
how much it means to us. We thank GOD for all of you."
Porter
died at her Los Angeles home on Nov. 15 at age 47, but the cause of
death has not yet been established by the Los Angeles County Medical
Examiner-Coroner's office. An autopsy was performed the next day but the
results were deferred for further testing, which could take weeks.
Porter was remembered Saturday in
her hometown of Columbus, Georgia. Guests included Diddy, Kimora Lee
Simmons, Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans, who reportedly sang at the
event, according to E! News and TMZ.
DJ Khaled also tweeted that he was at the funeral.
"Came
to Columbus, Georgia to pay forever homage to the beautiful grace of
Kim Porter! God bless to the Porter, Goodwin and Combs families! You are
forever in our prayers!!" he wrote along with a photo of himself
holding a program.
The news sites report Porter will be laid to rest next to her mother, Sarah Lee Porter, who died in 2014.
Diddy
wasn't the only star to pay tribute to Porter via social media. Beyonce
also posted a series of photos on her Instagram of the late star.
The singer captioned one photo of a young Porter with a lyric from her song "Heaven."
"Heaven couldn’t wait for you," she wrote, adding the praying hand emoji.
